* Echoes the butterflies from the adjoining Alex's Lemonade Stand Mural shown in the last picture. The actual inscription on the fence is a misquote of a poem attributed elsewhere to Marjorie Wright Miller, with "Grabs" instead of "Garbs" and an extraneous apostrophe in "its".

Ernesta was the moving force behind the restoration of the Fairmount Water Works and these gardens. Fairmount Park Commissioner from 1981 to 2002 and a founding member of the Fairmount Park Conservancy, she was a civic leader, a feminist, a beloved friend.

Main Quad Fountain

* The Drexel University seal is inscribed into the base of the fountain in very shallow relief which you can see when the water is off. Each of the water jets is individually programmable and individually lit at night. On the day the pictures were taken the triangle was divided into four smaller triangles which spouted in succession.
